Beefcake ("Beefcake", "we", "us") is a workout-tracking app operated by InsightStudios, LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the app or this website, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — your first name, last name, and email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Workout data — the content you create in the app: exercises, routines, logged workouts and sets, and custom progress charts. If you import a file (for example, a Strong app CSV export), we process it to create the corresponding data in your account.
- Subscription data — if you upgrade to Beefcake Pro, your subscription status and renewal date, and a customer identifier from our payment processor. We do not collect or store your card details — payment is handled entirely by Stripe (see below).
- Basic technical data — standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) needed to operate and secure the service.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health-app data, and we do not use advertising identifiers or third-party ad tracking.
How we use your information
- To provide the app — store your account, sync and back up your workout data across your devices, and let you use every feature.
- To manage your subscription and process payments (through Stripe).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (for example, bot protection on the website's sign-up and login forms via Cloudflare Turnstile).
- To respond to you if you contact us for support.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your workout data for advertising.
How your data is stored
Beefcake is local-first: your data lives on your device and is backed up to our servers so you don't lose it and can use it on more than one device. Automatic backup is included on both the free and Pro plans.
Service providers we share data with
We share only what is necessary with providers that help us run Beefcake:
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Railway — hosting for our application server and database.
- Vercel — hosting for this website.
- Cloudflare — bot protection on website forms.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — from the Profile screen in the app (Delete account), or from the Plans page on this website. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and all associated data (exercises, routines, workouts, and charts) from our servers and cancels any active subscription and removes your customer record from Stripe. This cannot be undone.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, all traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and your login token is stored in your device's secure storage. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Beefcake is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can view and edit your name and email in the app's Profile screen, and delete your account (and all data) at any time as described above. If you have questions or requests about your data, contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
